Regal Rexnord demonstrates its sortation system

Regal Rexnord is demonstrating its ModSort Trident at the 2022 Package Fulfillment, Logistics and Delivery Expo at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati on July 13-14.

Part of the company’s ModSort suite of products, the ModSort Trident has a four-zone infeed that gaps a product, reads the package and sends it down a belt, where it then diverts left, right or straight on a 30° spur-curve to one of three sorting locations. The solution creates throughputs of up to 3,600pph and can handle weights up to 22.7kg (its rates are dependent on package profile, weight and application review). The ModSort Trident also features a four-zone belted MDR infeed, a dual-divert ModSort pre-justification zone, a triple-divert ModSort sort zone, 30° MDR-powered spurs network switch, and optional NAT and I/O subpanels for MDR motor controller cards. The tech also has a frame-mounted HMI operator control panel with push buttons for start/stop, reset, communications fault and emergency stop. Alongside this, it has an integrated PLC controller/power panel and a fully welded support frame with casters.

“The ModSort Trident is ideal as a secondary sortation station in a fulfillment center and works well with parcel post, e-commerce and warehouse distribution applications,” said Jeremy Fryman, conveying product manager at Regal Rexnord. “This sortation system can accommodate up to 60 cartons per minute on average, with a weight limit of 50 lb. It uses a 37in-wide (between frame) x 66in-long triple-belt divert for polybags, boxes, flats and some types of totes. ModSort Trident technology uses 24V DC power and requires only a simple power drop and Ethernet connection to the customer warehouse management solution. Designed to be mobile (the unit comes on heavy-duty casters), it can be redeployed if needed in another location.”

On Thursday, July 14 at 3:10pm, Brad Gossard, global general manager at Regal Rexnord Modsort, will give a presentation on ‘Approachable last-mile automated sortation – safe, quiet, scalable, efficient’, in Room B at The Duke Energy Center. The presentation will include last-mile sortation application needs with an eye to throughput, safety, scalability, condition monitoring and efficiency.
